Hiking in the Alps

I know it's been a long time since I posted this blog... So here it is: on the 18th of May Remo and I went hiking in the surroundings of Champéry.

The area is called "les préalpes du Chablais valaisan", and is situated really at the border between Switzerland and France, but still in Switzerland. In winter, we go skiing there as well. The skiing domain is called "Les portes du soleil"...

The journey begins in the village of Champéry (1036 meters high), and ends at the "Pointe de la Ripaille" (1927 meters high). The weather was fantastic! We met goats and cows on the way :-)

Cows are very nice animals, as they left us generous and smelly "gifts" on our way to the top...

We crossed the "torrent de Seumon" after 30 minutes walk...

We then walked across woods and meadows, and finally arrived in our top destination...

The most amazing thing was that we went through snowy fields on the way back... in May! Really really fun day ;-)

Hiking in snow is a much better option, i believe. Alps is such a lovely place and no matter where ever you shoot picture you are sure to get a picture perfect scenery.
