Basque country, july-august 2007

Remo and I went SURFING for two weeks in the Spanish side of the Basque country. This place is located in the North-East of Spain. Our favourite spot was Sopelana! The waves there were so powerful that we didn't need to paddle to catch the waves!!! It was so fun!

Prior to any outgoing, we had to heat-up our muscles...

Then we take the board, and attach its leash to one of our ankle...

...and there we go: SURFING!!!!

From Sopelana, we tough we should find other spots: direction Azturias...

We did two days camping in the Playa of Rodiles... But the waves were too small, so we decided to go back to the Basque country.

We were curious about "the wave of Mundaka", so we spent two days there! But still: no waves :-(

To reach the waves in Mundaka, one must swim on the board, and reach the sand bank that you can see on the back-right...

This monastery on a small peninsula was gorgeous! It was seen on the way from Mundaka to Sopelana.

And back to Sopelana, where the waves were as cool as usual! This day the wind was very strong, and you can notice a Kyte and a Windsuf in the back!

Another view from Sopelana beach. We could see the magestuous wind mills of Bilbao in the back.

...and last but not least: beautifull sunset on Sopelana!

GRC microfluidics , 15-18 july 2007

The conference was held in a ski resort in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. The place was surrounded by mountains and walking/bike trails.

We had lectures in the morning, and the evening. The afternoons were free for socializing with a big choice of leisures. The evening after the lectures, a bar was also ready for discussions with beer and wine...

I went on a journey to the top of one mountain for downhill biking... Fun :-)

The last day we had the very famous Lobster dinner of NH gordon conferences!

Boston, 13-15 july 2007

Just before the Gordon conference in Waterville Valley, I paid a visit to Vincent and Isa in Cambridge... Vincent shares this lovely house with 4 other people, the house is just magnifiscent!

Mr "Casse-noisettes" paid a visit between two acorns...

We had a barbecue in the backyard...

Saturday we went to Boston to visit and do "some" shopping... Vincent gave us a very professional tour guide of the city center!

The reflection of the clouds on the skyscrappers' walls is really cool!

Boston is the greanest american big city I encountered so far.

First pictures with my new gadjet

Remo and I got a new gadjet: the magnifiscent digital camera from Sony called "T100"... We just received it today, so I couldn't resist but trying it out in the beginning of the evening!!!

The views you see are from the old city of Lausanne, just at the foot of our doorstep!

And this is our building...

Open air St Gallen 2007

Last week-end Remo and I were in St Gallen for the open air where Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, The Frames, Art Brut, Arctic Monkeys, and Snow Patrol were playing...

By chance we met Thomi and Fränzi! What a lovely surprise :-)

I leave you watch the atmosphere for yourself, it was simply amazing!
